What is it?
Sleep Wellness by Bio Nutrition is a sleep aid with a formula that consists of both natural herbs and gentle lab-made compounds. The product promises to not only help you achieve a state of relaxation and calmness but also regulate your sleep cycle back to normal. An important aspect of sleep that most people tend to forget is getting a sufficient and consistent amount of it at a daily basis. For instance, sleeping for 13 hours tonight will not “compensate” for that all-nighter you pulled in attempt to tackle a huge pile of work (which was a result of your awful procrastination habits).
Since Sleep Wellness claims that it can help reset your sleep cycle, we are excited to see whether or not it can actually do so. To learn more about this product and whether or not it’s worth the price tag, keep reading.
What’s in it?
Sleep Wellness contains quite an impressive blend of ingredients – all of which are fully disclosed on their supplement facts label (yay!). Let’s start with the 300 mg of Wild Lettuce Extract included in the mix. This fascinating plant not only induces relaxation and tranquility, but it can also work as a natural but effective painkiller. Wild Lettuce is great for those of you who suffer from insomnia out of chronic physical pain, such as post-surgery leg discomfort or toothaches.
Moving on to the 250 mg of Valerian Root Extract. This compound is undoubtedly one of our favorites – it has sedative properties that work on the nervous system, making it a commonly used herb to treat insomnia and other sleep issues. Valerian works on nearly everyone and the best part about it is that it does not cause any side effects such as dizziness the next day.
Sleep Wellness also contains 20 mg of 5-HTP. 5-HTP is a substance that naturally occurs in the body and helps with the production of serotonin – a neurotransmitter that regulates sleep. While some people find luck with 5-HTP supplements, others do not and are not very big fans. This makes sense because the scientific research available on this substance shows opposing results…smells fishy, no? Anyway, a 150 mg dosage of 5-HTP is the recommend dose for the supplement to actually work. Since Sleep Wellness only contains 50 mg, we must admit that this is an area for improvement.
What can it do for you?
Since Sleep Wellness is available on Amazon.com, a lot of users have shared their experiences with the product via the comments section. As we glance through the opinions, it seems as though 50% of the customers find the product excellent while the other 50% view it as a piece of “weak” garbage.
One user reported: “My son sent me this for my twitchy legs and insomnia…really works for both issues but you need to take it earlier than 20 minutes before going to bed-at least I do. I usually try to take it about 45 minutes before bedtime.” Meanwhile, another customer said “Returned….did not work for me…”
Is it safe?
A major highlight with this product is that it didn’t cause any major side effects. In fact, none of the customers on Amazon.com reported any kind of headaches, dizziness, nausea or many of the other concerns often tied with sleep aids. If you try the product and notice that you are experiencing a bad reaction then we suggest for you to discontinue use or lower the dosage.
For those of you concerned with allergens, please know that the product is free of gluten, yeast, corn, wheat and soy.
How much is it?
A bottle of Sleep Wellness contains 60 vegetarian capsules and comes at a price of around $11 to 13. The recommended dose is 1 capsule per night, meaning the bottle will last you nearly two months. This price is very affordable and to be frank quite cheap compared to other sleep aids.
Sleep Wellness by Bio Nutrition is an average to good sleep aid. The formula was impressive at first, but we soon realized that the dosing of certain compounds did not meet the recommended amount. For instance, around 150 mg of 5-HTP should be taken nightly for it to actually work and battle insomnia. Sleep Wellness, however, only packs in 50 mg. Perhaps this is why 50% of the product’s users were not too pleased with their purchase. Considering how cheap the product is, we can’t say that buying it would be a total waste of money. But keep in mind that there are better products you can add to your bedside table, such as our 2015 Editors’Award Winner Lumonol Luna.
